As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing well Digital Nomads owning a Thai Company. I thought of make this video after reading a recent comment on our channel, quoting directly: "Can a Digital Nomad own his company at 100%?" As we have discussed in prior videos “maybe”, depending on circumstances. For example, Americans who wish to do business in Thailand may be able to do so pursuant to the terms of the US-Thai Treaty of Amity which grants national treatment to Americans or American Companies looking to do business in the jurisdiction the Kingdom of Thailand. Then under those circumstances yeah 100% American ownership is possible. Then meanwhile, there may be other mechanisms and schemes. For example the Board of Investment is a good example of a body that can grant concessions whereby a foreign national could own a company outright. The Eastern Economic Corridor as well. The EEC has been granted with powers to do similar things to the BOI wherein they may be able to grant the ability of a foreign national to own their company outright. So again, there are more than one way to skin a cat as they say. Meanwhile, yes there's always the standard 49/51 sort of foreign to Thai ratio Company that's out there and then of course there is the Foreign Business License. It may be possible to go ahead and get the Ministry of Commerce to issue a Foreign Business License and if that does occur, then it would be possible for that foreign national to own their company 100%.  

So the thing to take away from this video and the thing to understand is there are multiple ways it may be possible for a foreign national to come to Thailand, own a Company here in Thailand with 100% or near 100% ownership. To be clear, there are formalities associated with shareholders so you may need to have an extra shareholder or two depending on your circumstances. Well presently it's an extra one now but again virtually 100%, yeah it's possible. Again it is going to be circumstantially dependent.
