Corporate Banking In Thailand: Multiple Signatories?
Transcript of the above video:
As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing well Corporate Bank Accounts and we are discussing the issue of multiple signatories. So, in the context of a Corporate Bank Account, it is possible for more than one person or I should say one or more people, to act as signatory on the Bank Account and it is even possible to stipulate the terms under which banking has to be formalized; so the formalities associated with banking in a Corporate context. What do I mean?
Let's say that we have got a company; let's say it an SME and it's got two Directors and these two are working together to build up this company. They have just started off and they have said "hey we are both going to be signatories on this account and on this account in order to withdraw money or to write checks both signatures of both parties stipulated on the account need to be present in order to make that respective transaction." That is definitely possible. It could be even more, could be three, it could be four. Again, in a corporate context is possible to have multiple signatories to a given account or it is possible to say look any of the following for example three people may sign to have withdrawals done, may sign checks, you don't need the other two; each one of them independently has the authority to make as a signatory to make such transactions.
So again it is going to vary greatly depending on the prerogatives of those involved with the given corporation. There also may be formalities required depending on the banking functions one wishes to undertake; there may be corporate formalities required in terms of for example possible shareholder meeting, possible director meeting associated with signature issues and Thai Corporate Banking.
