Filing for Thai Social Security in 2026?
Transcript of the above video:
As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing Social Security in Thailand. Yes, Thailand does have Social Security. It is something that many people will file for and obtain here in Thailand if they are basically working here, and as long as their contributions are being made, they can avail themselves of certain medical benefits as well as certain death benefits and retirement benefits; I've gone into sort of the details of that type of thing in other videos.
That being said, we're talking about this specifically in the context of corporations and I am specifically looking at this from the standpoint of foreign nationals maintaining a company here in Thailand and utilizing that company as a vehicle for Work Permit and Visa status on an ongoing basis.
The thing to take away from this video is yeah look, Social Security filing for one's Thai employees or for a company's Thai employees, are extremely important documents as they ultimately will also pertain to Business Visa and Work Permit extension here in Thailand. So making sure that the corporate financials are up to date is important. Corporate Tax needs to be filed, Value Added Tax filings need to be made, but on top of that, Social Security contributions also need to be made in association with an ongoing business here in Thailand and especially an ongoing business that is maintaining a Business Visa and a Work Permit for a foreign national. So Social Security filings even if they are only for the Thai workers on a company, do pertain to a foreign national that might be on a company because the documentation pertaining to the payment of those Social Security contributions are going to be required in the application for a Business Visa or Work Permit initially, as well as on an ongoing basis when seeking extension of both Business Visa and Work Permit status here in the Kingdom Thailand.
