As the title of this video suggests, we are posing the question, how fast can one set up a business in Thailand. Now I want to bifurcate this analysis by saying there is a difference between setting up the actual underlying business and setting up a corporate structure especially for a foreign national if you are looking to do business here in Thailand. So what are we talking about? 

Well I see this from time to time. Somebody will come out here with a gangbuster’s idea and it will actually work, and their business idea is a really good idea and they can actually get it up and going relatively quickly. The problem is as a foreign national here, you don't have an inherent right to work and you don't have an inherent basically right to remain. So basically, corporate sort of incorporation may be necessary, in fact it probably I would say in the vast majority of cases is necessary for any foreign national looking to do business in Thailand because they need to use that corporate structure as a means and method of maintaining not only long-term Thai Business Visa status but also Work Permit status also. 

So the thing to understand and the thing to take away from this video is there is ‘setting up your business’ which is not particularly something we are going to be able to provide a great deal of advisory services on, you know your business but when it comes to issues associated with incorporation, work authorization those kinds of things, we assist with that on a regular basis because quite frankly that is something that the average lay person, especially a foreign national, is not going to be able to go ahead and get sorted out on their own. For that reason, again as we have noted in other videos, it is probably not a bad idea to contact a legal professional, gain some insight and guidance into how best to proceed.
