How Long Does It Take to Incorporate a Thai Company?
Transcript of the above video:
As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing or are asking the question: “How long does it take to incorporate a Thai Company?”
I don't mean to sound like a broken record in these videos but long story short is, it is going to depend heavily on the type if you will, of Thai Company that one needs. It also is going to depend on what your actual objectives are. Somebody watching this video might say well my objectives are exactly what the question implies, I want to know how long it takes to set up a Company.
Well do you? Are you a foreigner? If you are a foreigner, is the question 'how long does it take to set up a Company?' or 'how long does it take me to get a Business Visa and Work Permit?' because those are two very different questions, three very different questions actually. If it is a Thai national just looking to set up a Company in Thailand to do business under, that is a pretty straightforward procedure; that can happen in under a week. If it is a foreign national and they are looking to set up in compliance with the Foreign Business Act, that can take a little more time. As we get into in other video contemporaneously with this one, Americans via the Amity Treaty have a totally different sort of analysis associated with corporate setup and timing is very different for them.
Long story short, I mean basic incorporation might just be a matter of days or maybe like a business week something like this. But the ancillary issues associated with things like Business Visa and Work Permit can take quite a bit more time and any other specialized certifications, Board of Investment (BOI), Eastern Economic Corridor certification (EEC), Amity Treaty provisions. Again, all of that is going to change the analysis of how long it takes to incorporate a Company here in the Kingdom of Thailand.
