Opening A Restaurant In Thailand: Company Setup?

Transcript of the above video:

As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing opening a restaurant in Thailand. Specifically in this video we are going to talk about Company setup. So food and beverage is actually something, I have worked for a lot of clients over the years that are in the food and beverage industries especially foreigners who are looking to bring in unique types of food to Thailand. One of the coolest things about living in Bangkok and even going on relatively frequent excursions down to Pattaya is there is a lot of great International food. One thing that is kind of nice about foreigners liking to make Thailand their home is oftentimes they'll come here and they'll say "Hey, my mother made excellent Greek food; I know how to cook Greek food; I'm going to set up a Greek restaurant." And we have ended up with this really cool, very eclectic collection of restaurants throughout Thailand that are international and that are very good. On top of that, Thais can cook. If you can teach them how to make certain types of food, even though it's foreign to them, Thais are some of the best natural cooks I have ever seen on the planet. So again, many folks come here to Thailand and find that setting up a restaurant may be something that they are interested in. So that kind of brings us back to the main topic of this video which is company set up.

Now for foreign nationals looking to come to Thailand to set up a food and beverage business, you are probably going to end up needing to deal with setting up a Thai Company and within that Thai Company you are going to need to go ahead and deal with things like Business Visas and Work Permits which we will discuss in other videos I am making contemporaneously with this one. But long story short, and the purpose of this video is yes generally speaking, if you are a foreign national looking to come to Thailand to set up a food and beverage business, you are going to need to deal with a corporate setup of some kind in order to let that act as a basis again for things like Business Visas and Work Permits as well as Corporate Banking and dealing with various Tax matters associated with maintaining a food and beverage business here in the Kingdom of Thailand.
