Social Security Registration for Thai Companies Employing Foreigners?
Transcript of the above video:
As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing foreigners work authorization in Thai companies, company set up, and Social Security. So for those who are unaware, there is a lot of documentation associated with work authorization in Thailand. And let's be clear, real work authorization, Work Permit status where you are clearly not going to be in violation of Thai Labour Law if working in Thailand. You are going to have to have a corporate sponsor.
A lot of folks contact us to set up companies for them in order to then turn around and get a B Visa and a Work Permit. We have been successful at that for a number of years, and we have a number of clients who maintain ongoing Work Permit status through that method. Oftentimes, many of them go on to seek Permanent Residence and even in some cases Thai citizenship. So it is kind of, in my opinion, it's the most traditional and most certain way of setting up an operation here in Thailand and operating especially as a small business owner here in Thailand, as a foreigner.
Now something to keep in mind is in order to obtain a Work Permit in Thailand, there are certain basically specifications if you will, or requirements I should say, for getting things in terms of you need to get something like Social Security. So Social Security is a prerequisite associated with getting a Work Permit issued. There is also an employee ratio between Thai to foreign that you have to comply with in order to get not only Work Permit issuance but also ongoing Business Visa extension here in the Kingdom of Thailand.
