Thai Company Startup in 2025?

Transcript of the above video:

The question posed in this video is ‘what is Thai Company startup going to look like in 2025?’

First of all, it's worth noting, folks that may be asking the question, 'I don't really need a company to do anything in Thailand', well in point of fact, you probably do.

If you are a foreigner looking to work in Thailand, as we have discussed in other videos, notwithstanding all the nonsense talk in the media and from various organizations claiming, "oh, our visa grants work authorization", the Ministry of Interior has been clear as we have discussed in other videos, anything that "impinges upon the Thai Economy”, you need work authorization in order to work in Thailand doing that. So basically, in order to work in Thailand, you need a Work Permit.

So if you want  brick and mortar business - like a restaurant, a cafe, a bar, a grill - you're going to need a work permit if you are a foreigner and you are going to look at operating in those kinds of things. Yes, I do understand “remote work” as we have discussed in other videos, they have become more lax on that with regard to work authorization, but again it must not impinge and I mean impinge in any way on the Thai economy. So, if you are looking to work in Thailand, you are going to need work authorization. The platform to provide work authorization is setting up of a company.

How hard is that to do? Actually, not that bad; it's fairly straightforward. Again, those that don't know the process, especially foreigners, it is probably a good idea to contact a legal professional, gain some insight and guidance into how best can proceed. But yeah, it's possible to set up a Thai Corporation, possible to possibly get BOI, Board of Investment concessions for that Company or just maintain a standard 49/51 Thai Corporate setup to maintain Work Permits and Visas for a foreign business operation here in Thailand. As we have discussed in other videos, it's also possible for American citizens or American businesses to come and do business in Thailand under the terms of the US-Thai Treaty of Amity which grants "National Treatment" to business operations of American origin looking to do business here in Thailand. That could be a major benefit for looking to do a Thai company set up.

Long story short, there are a number of options for those looking to do business here in the Kingdom of Thailand.
