As the title of this video suggests, are there two year Work Permits in Thailand? We have discussed this in prior videos but as kind of happens from time to time, I end up having to kind of repeat myself as time goes on because quite honestly, the videos get old; people don't find them; I end up getting inquiries and messages on a topic and I say to myself, "well it is probably time to make another video on that topic" and here we are. 

I thought of making this one after reading a recent comment on our channel, quoting directly: "Glad they gave me a 2-year Work Permit last year for the first time because you have to sign just as many documents." Yeah, a lot of documents have to be signed; a lot of documents usually Business Visa, Work Permit application has paperwork about that thick, minimum associated with it, so kind of a fun little carpal tunnel experiment to get into when you are signing all the documents associated with Work Permits. 

But what are two year Work Permits? Yeah they do exist, they are out there. Generally speaking you are going to see two year Work Permits issued primarily in the context of businesses which are covered under the Board of Investment, which are granted concession under the Board of Investment although I suspect it may not be outside the realm of possibility that we see these issued in the context of the Eastern Economic Corridor here in Thailand in the near future although again it remains to be seen how, when and why and under what context that might occur. So we will keep you updated on this channel on that topic as that situation evolves.

But long story short, yes, depending on circumstances, it may be possible for somebody to go ahead and register a Work Permit or get a Work Permit which is registered with a two-year validity here in the Kingdom of Thailand.
