"Tax Deductions For Companies" In Thailand's Tourism Sector?

Transcript of the above video:

As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing certain tax breaks if you will for certain companies involved with the tourism sector here in Thailand. I thought of making this video after reading recent article from the Bangkok Post, bangkokpost.com, the article is titled: Tax measures to boost tourism approved. Quoting directly: "The Cabinet on Tuesday approved tax measures to boost domestic tourism during the low season, a deputy Minister of Finance said. The measures, which cover the period from May to November, include tax deductions for companies organizing conventions and seminars, Paopoom Rojanasakul said. Additional measures were designed to increase domestic travel to secondary cities, including allowing income tax deductions for home stay and non-hotel accommodation expenses."

Interesting there. It looks like Thai Authorities are trying to do encourage if you will, tourism during what has been heralded as the low season, although certain people are calling it the "Green" Season now because low season is not quite as low as it has been in the past. We are actually seeing a lot of people who are staying either longer; we're seeing more tourists come during this time period. Some people are saying it has to do with Thailand's new line of "green" products that perhaps certain tourists are interested in partaking in, I'm not so sure, I think there may be something to that but I don't know exactly how to quantify it. Meanwhile though, I think it's a good idea on the part of the Government to try to boost some demand for tourism and I'm always in favour of reductions in terms of tax and taxation. So further deductions for businesses here in Thailand in the tourism sector I think are very warranted under the circumstances, I think it's a good idea. And I definitely think it's a good idea moving forward to encourage tourism in Thailand by any means necessary.
