Could Big Joke Opening "Pandora's Box" Impact Thai Immigration Policy?

Transcript of the above video:

As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing Surachate Big Joke Hakparn who is oftentimes a topic of discussion on this channel because oftentimes the things that he does in his capacity as Deputy National Police Chief has ramifications for foreign nationals quite honestly here in Thailand, much more directly so in his past iteration as the Head of the Immigration Bureau but even now we are seeing indirect ramifications of his proactive approach to law enforcement in terms of how it impacts foreign nationals looking to live and work in Thailand.

I thought of making this video after reading a recent article from the Bangkok Post, bangkokpost.com, the article is titled: Major arrest opens Pandora's Box of crimes. Quoting directly: "In an interview with the Bangkok post, Police General Surachate said that from what police have discovered during the investigation, organized crime involving Chinese gangs poses a serious threat and must be dealt with swiftly." They get into this whole thing, there is a massive investigation that went into this, I will get into that in a minute. Quoting further: "But the investigation did not end there because Police General Surachate ordered police to run background checks on the parties involved. The more police delved into, (I am going to say name redacted here) the more irregularities emerged and she became suspected mastermind of a criminal ring that runs an illegal surrogacy business and fraudulently obtains identification documents for illegal aliens, said Police General Surachate." I want to quote that again: "fraudulently obtains identification documents for illegal aliens."

That has implications in Thai Immigration so that could mean we could see reverberations of this within the Immigration apparatus perhaps in the form of heightened scrutiny associated with documentation pertaining to Immigration status here in the Kingdom of Thailand. We could see a situation where processing times associated with Thai Visas are longer than in the past because again heightened scrutiny, concern about these issues associated with fraudulent documentation. All of this has ramifications, possible ramifications within the Immigration apparatus. Am I saying this is a foregone conclusion? Absolutely not. That said, we have seen Big Joke in the past, sort of his attention move to topics that then we do see major changes resulting from that attention essentially, and where there are possible implications associated with identification documents and illegal aliens in Thailand, I would say that my radar, my Spidey sense if you will is sort of going off saying "Ooh, might want to be on the lookout moving forward with regard to again heightened scrutiny in the context of not only visas but Visa processing here in the Kingdom of Thailand.
