Foreigner with an Actual "Mule Account" Arrested in Thailand?

Transcript of the above video:

As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing so-called mule accounts in the context of banking, and the fact that someone has been arrested for having a mule account in Thailand.

I have to be honest with you; the title of this video is what it is because I've been waiting around to see one of these “mule account” holders actually get arrested. We've been hearing about this for darn near a year now - ever since old OECD came slinking its way in. As I have discussed in many other videos, unfortunately during the term of the primary coalition party in the last government, we saw all kinds of World Economic Forum folks showing up out here and the OECD, just undue foreign influence across the board in my opinion. None of it's good for Thailand, none of it's good for Thailand's banking sector. I think long term it will all auger badly for Thailand. I think Thailand should just pursue her own national interest, none of this supranational stuff; just what's good for Thailand is what's good for Thailand. The rest of the world do whatever the rest of the world wants, but at the end of the day we'll see if that actually transpires.

Before I get into the article I want to cite, I think it's worth pointing out, my better half and I set up a restaurant here in downtown Bangkok, it's called Pancake Palace. As the name implies it is breakfast anytime including pancakes. We all have English breakfast; we also have American Diner style food; so it's not just for breakfast. You can come in the evenings; we have dinner time, we have lunch time. We have American Diner style food including hamburgers, cheeseburgers; we've got chilli bowls, we've got chilli dogs, we've got buffalo wings, we've got grilled cheese sandwiches. We have even got tacos now, Coke in glass bottles. If you're interested come on down, Pancake Palace, links are in the description below.

That said, quoting directly from a recent article in The Phuket News, that is thephuketnews.com, the article is titled: Russian arrested for withdrawals from mule accounts. Quoting directly: "A Russian man wanted on an arrest warrant for his role in a call centre scam network has been arrested in Phuket after repeatedly withdrawing funds from so-called "mule accounts" linked to online fraud cases." Quoting further: "Police from the Phuket Provincial Police Investigation Division confirmed the arrest of - (I'm going to leave the name redacted) - at an apartment in Rawai on Sunday. The arrest was carried out under a warrant issued by the Surat Thani Provincial Court on charges of aiding and abetting public fraud, inputting false computer data likely to cause public harm, and illegal use of another person's electronic card. Officers said the suspect was part of a group involved in withdrawing money obtained from victims of technology-related crimes, including call centre scams."

Yeah again, my main reason for making this video is this topic of mule accounts and things have been hot on the lips of many of the technocratic supranationalists that have been trying to creep their way into Thailand recently and it turns out there actually has been one so far that I've seen, one incident of actually apprehending a person using a mule account. Otherwise it looks like AI is just freezing people's accounts sort of randomly; that seems to have slowed down if not stopped now.

But that said, we have seen other issues associated with banking. I expect we will probably see more, so for that reason we will certainly be keeping folks updated on this channel as the situation evolves.
