The Royal Thai Police Are Getting Their Own Influencers?
Transcript of the above video:
As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing the Royal Thai Police are getting their own influencers here in Thailand. I thought of making this video after reading ironically, being we are in the digital age and we are talking about influencers, I actually read this in the print edition of the Bangkok Post; I'll stick that up on screen.
Quoting directly, the article is titled, and you can find it at bangkokpost.com, the article is titled: Police influencers to bridge the gap. Quoting directly: "In an age when people turn to social media figures for help, National Police Chief Kittharath Punpetch is planning to develop the Royal Thai Police (RTP's) own influencers to build a direct connection with the public and warn them about crimes. I also concurrently found this article over on THAI.NEWS, that's thai.news, the article is titled: Kittharat Punpetch's Innovative Strategy: Royal Thai Police Cultivate Crime-Fighting Influencers. Quoting directly: "In this digital age, where social media stars are the go-to for guidance," - well go-to for guidance! Be careful who you deal with when it comes to social media to begin with. One thing I'm really hoping with the RTP getting into the social media influencing things is that their paradigm will shift, and they will see just how insidious some of these foreigners can be who are claiming to be professionals here in Thailand and dispensing all kind of advice about law, tax, all kinds of things here in Thailand that quite frankly, they need to basically shut up about it. As we discussed in other videos, it's completely illegal under the Restricted Occupations to even do that and I'm hoping that by dint of the fact that the Police Force is now sort of “entering the fray” as it were, into the social media space from an influencer perspective, it will drive a lot of this nonsense out because we will get actual good information sort of from the source in terms of the Police, especially as it pertains to law enforcement but also they will see the fact that hey these people out here who are being influencers who have no right or reason to be so, especially as it pertains to Major things like law and tax and policy here in Thailand, that needs to be pushed out. I'm hoping this may go some direction in doing that. That said, quoting further: "..National Police Chief Kittharath Punpetch envisions a fresh approach for the Royal Thai Police (RTP). His plan? To cultivate their own fleet of influencers within the force. These individuals will serve as a crucial link between the police and the public, enlightening citizens on crime prevention and ensuring that victims turn to the police before seeking outside help." Yeah that's great.
Going back over here to the print edition of Bangkok Post, quoting further: "RTP influencers, he said, must be an easily reachable channel for help, transforming how people perceive police and ensuring that crime victims go to the police first rather than seeking help elsewhere. He believes this will keep fast-evolving online villains at bay." Yeah, couldn't put it better myself. Yes, hopefully this goes a long way in dissolving this nonsensical influence by a bunch of quite honestly, nefarious idiots, who are talking about legal issues and tax issues here in Thailand. That said, quoting further: "Police Major General Teeradej, also the founder of the Police's IDMB Page, said the Cyber Booster project reflected a joint effort to combat online scams and various other cyber threats which swindle people out of their money. It aims to ensure the public knows where to go when they need help." Yeah, again I think this is a great idea. Quoting further: "Police Lieutenant Kansini, also known as "Lt. Panda", (okay) said she believes the project will help people because it has received cooperation from various agencies, including media outlets." Quoting further up in the article: "Featured Officers include Pol. Maj. Thanyapirasit Julpipop, an inspector attached with the MPB; Pol. Capt. Nonthapat Intrarasuran, a Deputy Inspector attached to the Technology Crime Suppression Division; and Pol. Lt. Kansini Sitthichotpong, a media liaison officer with the MPB. They are chosen not just for their good looks but also their police smarts." Well we hope. Quoting further: "Police have unique skills. Some are good at tracking down criminals. I am good at communicating, so I use it to expose those tricks. This is what I can do to minimize damage." Pol. Lt. Kansini said.
Yes, that is great. We here at Integrity Legal wish you luck in your endeavours. We very much hope this will go a long way to dispel a lot of misinformation and a lot of nonsense perpetrated by quite honestly, to quote again from the article: "online villains" and in this case, perhaps Farang online villains here in the Kingdom of Thailand.
