"Thai Immigration Bureau Officers" Arrest Foreign Vandal?
Transcript of the above video:
As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing Immigration arresting a foreign vandal. Now this person, I guess sort of styles himself as some sort of activist or something; let me just get into it. I thought of making this video after reading a recent article from The Thai Examiner, that's thaiexaminer.com, the article is titled: Mr. Spray arrested in Bangkok. Fled Koh Phangan. Angry German protesting against Israeli tourists. Quoting directly: "A 58-year-old German tourist" - yeah and the use of the word ‘protesting’. I mean when did vandalism become protesting? Quoting directly: "A 58-year-old German tourist was in custody on Koh Phangan on Wednesday night after his arrest earlier that day in Bangkok by Thai Immigration Bureau Officers. A regular visitor to Thailand, he is the notorious "Mr. Spray", whose graffiti campaign calling for support for Gaza sparked outrage across the island in recent days. Earlier on Wednesday he phoned a national news outlet to apologize for his actions, though he did not say he had fled the island fearing criminal consequences. After his arrest however, he was defiant, saying he had visited Koh Phangan since 2001 and that his actions were a protest against what he described as Israeli influence on the island and the presence of people he called "war criminals". In short, a long-time visitor brough his politics on holiday, with damaging result.” Yeah, that's well put. I urge those who are watching this video, go check out that article by Thai Examiner. As usual it's quite exhaustive, and they go into some detail here.
But my big question in all of this is what does Koh Phangan have to do with the Middle East? That's my first big one. We've seen all these; I did videos over the summer about folks from that area coming in and behaving badly and now we have got this guy running around spray painting stuff as a protest against what's going on over there. What does this have to do with Thailand? Why are the Thais being subjected to graffiti and vandalism and all sorts of foreigners behaving badly kind of antics throughout the Kingdom by a bunch of foreign nationals who really; it's like you are guests here. What are you doing? Why does Thailand have to put up with this? This is just ridiculous and as far as I'm concerned, "oh protesting against this".
I don't know what's exactly going on over in the Middle East in a given moment. I don't know why it has anything to do with here, and I don't understand why vandalizing property in Thailand with graffiti, somehow equates to protesting that. This is just ridiculous. That's what it is. It's a good quote: "brought his politics on holiday with damaging results." It's like bringing your baggage along with you. If you want to come here and be a tourist, come here and be a tourist. But this is just wrong. I don't really, I'm really at a loss for words on it because it doesn't make any sense and any of these folks that are engaging in this really just atrocious behaviour, my opinion just need to be deported. I mean if you're a foreign national coming here for the sole purpose of running around spray painting things, I mean, and you are a frequent visitor, you are frequent guest of the country, and this is what you come do? It doesn't make any sense to me. That being said, if there are further developments, we will certainly be keeping people updated on this channel as the situation evolves.
