Thai Police Target Foreign Scammers?

Transcript of the above video:

As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing Thai Authorities looking to basically target foreign scammers here in Thailand, let's dig in. I thought of making this video after reading a recent article from the Pattaya News, that is thepattayanews.com, the article is titled: Thai police bust illegal Chinese-Korean call center gang in luxury Pattaya homes. Quoting directly: "In a coordinated effort to combat transnational crime, Chon Buri Provincial Police and Pattaya City Police arrested a call centre gang consisting of Chinese and Korean Nationals who were using luxury properties in Pattaya as a base for their fraudulent operations. The gangs modus operandi included deceiving victims into purchasing non-existent products and then convincing them to transfer money. Initial investigations revealed that the victims primarily hail from China and South Korea, although Thai Nationals might also been targeted, which is currently under investigation. The police are looking into the financial flows of the gang and are examining whether the property owners were complicit in these illegal activities."

Yeah, this is one of these kind of perennial things that is always coming up here in Thailand is these transnational gangs that come in here, but again as we have discussed in other videos, Thai law enforcement is getting more savvy. They're also getting more frankly technologically capable, and they have kind of more and more of an attitude of hey, we want to root this out and get rid of it.

So long story short and the reason I'm making this video is look if you are looking in the comment set up some kind of Call Center, I understand that in the past this was the Wild West, it's really not that anymore. I think the sooner we get rid of that misconception will be better both for the public because they can feel more at ease but it'll also be better because these criminals will realize hey Thailand is no longer a platform from which we can operate and therefore use it as some sort of place to engage in our nefarious activities. The point I'm trying to make with this video is, look criminals, if you're looking to set up these kind of scams, maybe look elsewhere.
