Thailand Is Not an Optimal Place for Pornography Production?
Transcript of the above video:
As the title of this video suggests, and it is somewhat facetious, Thailand is not an optimum place for pornography production? As we have discussed in many videos in the past, pornography is illegal in Thailand; production thereof is also illegal. That being said, I thought of making this video after reading recent article from the Bangkok Post, that is bangkokpost.com, the article is titled: Foreigners, Thais arrested for making, selling pornography. Quoting directly: "Four foreign men and three Thais have been arrested on charges of making sex videos in Thailand that were sold worldwide. Pol Maj Gen Sarut Kwaengsopha, Commander of the Anti-Trafficking in People Division, released details on Monday. He said the arrests arose from an ongoing operation to suppress the making of sex-videos in Thailand. The suspects were arrested separately in Bangkok, Chon Buri, and Suvarnabhumi Airport in Samut Prakarn on Sunday." So as we have noted in other videos, pornography in Thailand is highly illegal. It's considered contraband; it's considered in contravention of morality. There are actual investigative authorities, investigative agencies not least of which the police, associated with dealing with pornography here in Thailand; pornography websites are banned etc. Now that being said, that's not to say that things don't leak in if you will as you can see from this case. But look, this could be serious criminal penalties for these folks. This could be a situation where they could find themselves to detained, possibly deported and blacklisted from Thailand.
So look, the point I'm trying to make with this video is if that's what you're trying to do, just don't do it here. It's a jurisdiction where it's illegal; it can cause you a great deal of problems if you come here and engage in this kind of activity, especially in a commercial sense. You can end up arrested, you can end up deported, it's just not a great idea. And again as we've discussed before, the reason is because at root, it is illegal here in the Kingdom of Thailand.
