Can Thai Property Be Bought and Sold from Abroad?

As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing buying and selling Thai property and whether or not this can be accomplished while one is outside of the Kingdom. We are especially talking about this in the context of foreign nationals. 

Now the thing to take away from this video is we have actually had to deal with this quite a little bit since the situation involving COVID has arisen here in Thailand because a lot of people have been basically stuck outside the country for prolonged periods of time. We have dealt with a number of different cases involving folks that needed to go ahead and buy or sell property. 

It is possible although it is a bit more cumbersome. Things like Powers of Attorney are involved when you are dealing with this and documentation regarding authentication of signatures etc. can be quite a bit more cumbersome compared to just dealing with things here in Thailand. Most notably because for example things involving the Land Office where you just present yourself at the Land Office with your ID and prove that you are who you say you are to go ahead and sign the transaction documentation, that works in fairly short order. If you are abroad you have got to prove who you are; you have got to go ahead and prove that you are the one signing etc. that all has got to be certified.

There are extra layers of steps involved in such a transaction but it is possible and we have assisted folks in going ahead and both signing off on sale and purchase of property here in the Kingdom of Thailand notwithstanding the fact that they are not physically present here within the Kingdom.
