Anutin to Form Thai "Coalition Government as Soon as Possible"?
Transcript of the above video:
Wow, what a difference a day makes. There are you know a lot of developments happening as you can tell by the title of this video with regard to the formation or I should say the re-formation of the Thai Government.
I thought of making this video after reading a recent article from the Bangkok Post, bangkokpost.com, the article is titled: People's Party backs Anutin for PM, Pheu Thai moves for House dissolution. We get to the House dissolution part, as I have already discussed, in a prior video we just made today. The whole notion that, a caretaker, acting, whatever you want to call it, Prime Minister can initiate dissolution is legally unsound, let’s say that. That said, quoting directly: "People's Party leader (PP) Natthapong Ruengpanyawut announced support for Bhumjaithai Party leader Anutin Charnvirakul as the new Prime Minister on Wednesday morning. Mr. Natthapong said at the Parliament that his Party supported Bhumjaithai leader Anutin for the Prime Ministership, but with conditions. Mr. Anutin said separately that he accepted those conditions." I urge those who are watching this video, go check out that article for more details with regard to that.
That said, quoting another article, again Bangkok Post, bangkokpost.com, the article is titled: Anutin signs PM nomination agreement. By the way, the photo which we are using for the thumbnail kind of a Trumpian thing, like how Trump always shows off what he signed. That said, kind of apropos of nothing I guess, but when I saw that photo, I just kind of chuckled to myself. Quoting directly: "Bhumjaithai Party leader Anutin Charnvirakul leader signed a written agreement with the People's Party to support his bid for Prime Minister and stated he would form a minority coalition Government as soon as possible. Key figures from the Klatham Party, the Palang Pracharath Party and the New Democracy Party and factions of the Democrat Party and in this was key; this is worth pointing out: "and Pheu Thai were present at the press conference. Regarding caretaker Prime Minister Phumtham Wechayachai's move to dissolve the House of Representatives, Mr. Anutin said the individual who submitted the dissolution motion would need to take responsibility for their actions, which needed to be clarified."
So as discussed in other videos, the Council of State has said unequivocally that it is their opinion that an acting Prime Minister cannot dissolve the House. I mean they have been unequivocal; I have read multiple articles on that. There's another article in the Bangkok Post which I cited in the prior video this morning, and it goes into great detail where the individual from the Council of State, I believe it's the person from The Office of the Prime Minister's Office specifically said, it is our opinion, no this is not proper, this is not appropriate. So the whole thing is kind of nonsensical to the point of absurd now, where there is a coalition which has formed. Quoting further: "We will form the government as soon as possible and will comply with the law," Mr. Anutin said." So I also urge folks who are checking out this video, go check out that article as well. A lot going on here today in Thailand.
It looks like we are seeing a new Government forming here in Thailand. As he gets into in those articles it looks like it's got a shelf life of approximately 4 months as we end off the year 2025, so that's what we are going to be looking at long-term. It's going to be sort of taking us off into the sunset if you will of 2025, looking forward to an election in 2026. Exactly how all this is going to play out remains to be seen, but we will certainly be keeping you updated on this channel as the situation evolves.
