As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing "Big Joke" that is Surachate “Big Joke” Hakparn who is the current Deputy National Police Chief here in Thailand. We have discussed him at length for quite a while; he initially caught my attention when he became the Head of Immigration some years back and then he made a bunch of major changes within Immigration, then left kind of quickly, in fact it was quite fast his departure and then he sort of re-emerged sort of in the more standard police, under the auspices of a more standard police situation. Again there's kind of overlapping jurisdiction sometimes between Thai Immigration and standard Royal Thai Police and again it gets a little murky as to where there is that sort of overlap. That said, one thing to take away from this video is that Big Joke is currently the Deputy National Police Station, he is no longer in Thai Immigration so that that is different.

The reason for making the video is I was reading a recent article from the Thai Examiner, that's thaiexaminer.com, the article is titled: Chinese gangs approaching expectant Thai fathers in private hospitals seeking identity transfers. Yet again the Thai Examiner goes into great detail, a lot of information in that article. I am going to quote just a small excerpt and it doesn't even get into the thrust of what that article gets into. I urge those who are watching this video that are interested in that topic, go check out the Thai Examiner directly. Quoting directly: "The Narcotics Suppression Bureau (NSB) moved last Thursday to seize the entire business of a luxury hotel in Samut PRAKARN run by a company in which", name redacted, I am just going to redact the names, "in which --, the alleged Chinese drug kingpin, is a shareholder. At the scene were officials from the state security agency and police led by General Surachate Hakparn who revealed that more prosecutions are to come in what is still an expanding case." 

Yeah so as the title notes, "Big Joke" is way past Immigration now. He is dealing with stuff that is a way wider scope in a law enforcement context than anything we were dealing with or he was dealing with at the time he was dealing with Immigration. So it has been very interesting to watch. I urge those who again are watching this video, go check out that article in detail, a lot of information in there. So it looks to me like "Big Joke" is going to continue doing what he has been doing for pretty much all the time we have ever been watching him on this channel. It will certainly be interesting to watch what he does as the days and weeks unfold.
