As the title of this video suggests, there was a Cannabis blaze, no pun intended, at a warehouse here in Thailand. The reason for the thumbnail, there is a scene - well hopefully I'll be able to find a thumbnail - so I'm hoping this thumbnail will be there, but it's from a movie called Romancing the Stone. There is a great scene where they are out in the jungle. Michael Douglas is kind of this frontiersman and he's with, I think it's Kathleen Turner, and they find this downed plane that was carrying bricks of marijuana. They are out there in the jungle, and he throws the bricks of Cannabis on the fire and as it burns, obviously it has an effect and there's this sort of interlude scene between the two of them. I just thought of it after reading this article from Khao Sod English, khaosodenglish.com. Blaze Destroys Cannabis Drying Warehouse in Korat. "A fire severely damaged a warehouse used for drying and storing cannabis in the Suranaree Industrial Estate in Muang District early on Tuesday, officials said.  Firefighters from Nong Bua Sala municipality were alerted to the blaze at 5.05 and dispatched two fire engines to the scene. Additional support was requested from the Sawang Metta Nakhon Ratchasima rescue unit and three more fire engines from Nakhon Ratchasima Municipality. The fire was found raging in the cannabis drying section before spreading to storage areas. Crews took about one hour to bring the blaze under control. No injuries or fatalities were reported." 

Yeah, and if anything I suspect everybody was kind of walking around up there with a little bit of a pleasant daze going on if it was the type of cannabis I'm presuming it probably was, if they were sitting there drying it out. So yeah, it just kind of reminded me of Romancing the Stone where they found that and they were sitting by this fire and proceeding to get kind of buzzed. I kind of wonder if the area that was in the neighbourhood of everybody - it's not funny in one sense - I mean there really was a fire and I'm glad firefighters showed up; I'm glad there were no injuries and anything but you can kind of laugh about it when you figure a bunch of weed went up in smoke and I have gotta imagine the firefighters who went in there might have noticed a bit of a difference in how they came out of the whole thing. 

Long story short, sad situation, glad to see the firefighters here in Thailand got it sorted out, but just thought it was; I like making these videos and at the end of the day I like where I can to kind of link them in with things from past pop culture, especially movies, so that's why I made it. That said, no real major updates regarding Cannabis Policy thus far in Thailand, but we will certainly be keeping folks updated on this channel as the situation evolves.
