Condolences Regarding the Recent Earthquake
Transcript of the above video:
Yeah, if you have been watching our channel the last few days, it has been pretty I hesitate to call it banal, but it is kind of rather banal content for our channel, especially recently we have been more topical and things. But yeah, the events that occurred over the course of this earthquake were traumatic I think for all involved to say the least. And fortunately, it appears we are not exactly none the worse for wear here in the firm, and to be clear this should also act as a notice. We are closed until Thursday the 3rd, so we're going to be closed through Wednesday. We have had some issues here, plumbing especially in the aftermath of this thing and look paperwork and documentation are important when you run a firm like this, so we have to double check that on top of dealing with what has already occurred with regard to some of that stuff, but long story short, yeah the case load we already have, we are still working;. We're not exactly not here but we have folks that have to run home; we have folks we have to go to other family members, clients, problems just generally speaking. We are already seeing the emails regarding property damage; please keep sending those. We will be responding to emails as best we can. I just want to let you know that please - until call it Thursday morning this week - don’t try to call or try to deal with us like this is a normal time. I also don't want it to be viewed as hyperbolic. I'm not trying to say it's worse than it is and add any kind of panic, I want to be clear there. But yeah, we have just got to deal with the aftermath of this and it's going to take a minute. So we are responding to emails, we are responding to correspondence as best we can. We are dealing with our in-house and clients and appointments that we have already set as best we can, and we are working through this, again as best we can. Things that were left undone from last week, we are trying to tie that off but for obvious reasons, we didn't exactly close out on a normal note last week, let's put it that way. So I think everybody that went through this here in Bangkok, I know I personally, it was something else and maybe we can get into it later.
One thing I want to be really clear on and I'm not commenting on anything but yeah there was an instinct in me to get out ahead and like report this and whatever. We do news, we are legal news, and we have veered into political to some extent. I don't really even want to lean too hard into political per se but pending legislation and things can have later impact on the law so that is clearly sort of within the lane, bailiwick, however you want to look at this channel, but I just was honestly I was in an upper floor of a building when this all went down, and not to get into my personal experience, again I don't want to use social media to as the kids say "grift off the event" or something of that nature, that's not my purpose in any of this. And I am not saying that there is any problem with social media covering things either. I'm just saying that the purpose of this channel, I'm sorry for rambling, it's just not within the bailiwick of this channel to discuss that type of thing. That said, there are ramifications to it; it was a heck of an event. We are definitely dealing with sort of the aftermath of it. I think everything's going to be moving along alright. It is for the most part sort of business as usual. I am dealing with sort of some issues associated with call it structural administration just here at the building because there are consequences to earthquakes, so let's just leave it that way. How exactly that plays out remains to be seen. It will all be fine from the standpoint of clients or anybody else, but we are dealing with what we are dealing with around here and we will get through it as we always do.
The point I am trying to make with this video though more than anything is condolences to the lost. This was something else. I mean to have lost a loved one in this I could see would have been very traumatic or would be whatever. In any event, we're looking forward to continuing to put up content and I will continue to do so, and as best we can keep you updated as the situation evolves. But just FYI, the next call it this week, those viewing the channel, if it goes from "oh wow that's like a completely topical news story" to "that's something I've heard about a million times, but okay I haven't heard about it in a year or so", there may be sort of a mix of that kind of content because we are dealing with some stuff in the background. So again thanks. Thanks for allowing me to ramble and rant here, again not the purpose to really get into the earthquake itself. Just to let folks know, we are okay as best one can be in the aftermath of something like this; no lives lost here in the firm. That being said, I know others are going through a hard time, so we wish them our best and we will certainly be keeping people updated regarding legal matters here in Thailand as best we can.
