Direct USA-Thailand Flights by "February of Next Year"?
Transcript of the above video:
As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing direct flights between the USA and Thailand yet again. This has been something I have been hoping for, for quite some time. Some years ago, they took Thailand off the list of direct flights, places that American airlines would directly fly to. There were some issues involving Civil Aeronautic Safety inspections etc. They had some concerns, so it was not possible to get a direct flight from the USA to Thailand for quite some time. It looks like that is going away.
I thought about making this video after reading a recent article from the Bangkok Post, bangkokpost.com, the article is titled: Thailand, US to resume direct flights. Quoting directly: "Thailand and the United States are expected to resume direct flights in February of next year when the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) of the US Department of Transportation upgrades Thai aviation safety from Category 2 to Category 1, according to Deputy Prime Minister Suriya Jungrungreangkit. Mr. Suriya recently announced the significant progress in Thailand's aviation safety standards following an inspection by the FAA between November 11 and 15, with the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT) receiving favourable evaluations." Quoting further: "He said while some minor issues remain, they are not expected to impact the final decision, adding that Thailand is projected to regain its Category 1 (CAT 1) safety rating by February next year, marking a major milestone for the country's aviation sector."
Yeah, so this is a pretty big deal. Again, so we should start seeing direct America to Thailand flights sometime presumably in 2025. That would be a major benefit for many Americans looking to travel to Thailand as they don't have to do a layover, a stopover somewhere else, which can add a significant amount of travel time quite frankly; it usually can almost add an extra half-day depending on where you are coming from in the United States. That being said, we will certainly keep you updated on this channel as the situation evolves.
