EEC Has "Transformed" Southeastern Thailand?

Transcript of the above video:

As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing the EEC, that is the Eastern Economic Corridor here in Thailand which for those who are unaware, this has been a major initiative in Thailand which in my opinion has been quite successful especially with regard to the implementation of infrastructure projects.

Man the Thai Government, I have got to take my hat off on this one and give credit where credit is due, the Thai Government, especially the past couple of years we have really seen infrastructural development in the Eastern Economic Corridor. This is being primed up in anticipation of foreign direct investment as well as certain investments into that sector, into that zone if you will in order to basically make the Thai economy more dynamic, bringing in high tech type of businesses,  biotechnology, green technology this type of thing and quite honestly I have got to say it's going pretty good and folks who watch this channel know I can be pretty critical if I want to be but on this one yeah it's been a lot of Ws, been a lot of wins, we've seen a lot of lot of numbers put in the win column when it comes to the issue of the Eastern economic Corridor in my opinion.

I thought of making this video after reading a recent article in the Pattaya Mail, that is pattayamail.com, the article is titled: Good news continues to pour into Pattaya's open arms. Quoting directly: "The recent APEC international business summit, hosted by Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha, has also put Pattaya on the center stage. The resort sits in the middle of the Eastern Economic Corridor, a major infrastructure and investment project which has already transformed road and sea communications between Bangkok and three provinces of which Chonburi and Pattaya are based. The EEC is also promoting investment opportunities in de-carbonization, wellness and health, logistics and digitization in 12 targeted industries. It is a trillion dollar affair."

Trillion dollars, yeah. I mean at first glance when I read that I said that maybe a touch over the top, but in a long term maybe not. The Eastern Economic Corridor could end up to be a real, it could end up being a major hub if you will, major epicentre of business here in Southeast Asia. I mean it's well located; the airport infrastructure is really solid; the ground transport infrastructure is very solid; the rail infrastructure is currently being built but the plans for it are really solid. I think overall just long term, I think this is a major benefit for Thailand and not only Thailand but the entire region of Southeast Asia generally.
