"Foreign Customer Register" Forms for Cannabis in Thailand?

Transcript of the above video:

As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing legalities associated with Cannabis here in Thailand. As we are going through something of a governmental transition here in Thailand, stay tuned on the whole issue of Cannabis because I have a feeling we are going to have a lot of news, especially going into the second half of the year, but going into the end of the year, I suspect we are going to see a lot of developments on the legal front.

I thought of making this video after reading a recent comment on our channel, quoting directly: "My girlfriend works at a Cannabis shop in Bangkok. She says the government sent them a foreign customer register form. They are to have each foreigner who buys Cannabis to write their name and passport number. My guess is that they are trying to gauge how much foreign money this is bringing into Thailand. If they find that Cannabis is bringing in a substantial amount of foreign income, they will probably keep it legalized.

Yeah I haven't heard of this, and I kind of wonder I have talked to some folks that are sort of in the industry, they kind of wondered if it wasn't some sort of ruse to get people on in some kind of mailing list but it could be real. I have had folks go look at it and the Ministry of Public Health that we talked to said they had not sent anything but that was a local office so I will check with national or try to go ahead and dig into this and figure out if this is real.

Long story short, it might be. It might be a protocol I am just not aware of and I haven't seen anything published on it but long story short, expect further regulation moving forward and that is the big thing to take away from this video. From here on out, yeah it has been kind of a weird limbo that we have been in with respect to this but expect there to be more regulation and by more regulation, I suspect there to be substantial changes with respect to the laws and likely new regulations associated with Cannabis here in the Kingdom of Thailand.
