I'm Gone a Month and We're Back to Talking About COVID Nonsense?
Transcript of the above video:
So there has been a lot of correspondence asking me what the heck, where have you been? What's going on? Are you okay? Are you dead? Long story short, obviously I'm not dead, but yeah I have had some health problems here recently which has caused me to have to take a hiatus and frankly I was kind of thinking about taking a hiatus recently anyway because frankly between sort of work obligations as well as keeping up this channel, and where it kind of became something of a news format, it became a bit overwhelming. On top of that, again I had some personal health problems. I actually had to be hospitalized for a period of time. It did fall at a relatively good time. I am thankful for that because it fell over these holidays, so it did not have much of a detrimental impact on the workload here at the office and thank God I have such great support staff here in our office because things have largely ticked along without a lot of problem. That said, yeah anytime you've got an absence like that there is going to be some stuff that I need to catch up on and I'm currently doing that, but I did want to let viewers know that yes, I am okay; yes we're going to continue making content.
But look the biggest thing that I have to say I noticed especially coming out of something of a convalescence here where I wasn't actually keeping as much up with the news is, what the heck Thailand, or I should say the media outlets in Thailand? I'm kind of looking at the usual suspects here. We're talking about COVID again? I mean as if it's not nonsense. I think that the thumbnail here says it all. I'll put a link in the description below. I saw that I think on Twitter where I mean I thought everybody was well aware at this point that COVID was if nothing else, largely an over-exaggeration of a relatively and by relatively I mean genuinely minor problem, but apparently not and apparently now there is again further talk and I have also seen people and been talking anecdotally to folks about the tourism situation here in Thailand. Again, we are in the so-called low season although some people now call it the green season. But long story short, we're sitting here in low season, it's a very low, low season. Now I would say we've had a couple of years now of way better than expected tourism numbers notwithstanding the media narrative and things associated with that. But long story short, yeah things are a little bit down. I don't think it helps running around talking about COVID and possibly scaring off tourists with the thought that they are going to do things like lockdowns and things like that here again which have now all been proven by the way. We have seen this in medical literature that none of that stuff worked and on top of that, largely COVID again was something of a major at best over exaggeration, I would argue it's possibly many other things. But long story short, it does not warrant the media attention that it gets, and I really think we need to stop with this, "oh public health, fear-mongering nonsense", because frankly, I don't think it helps anybody, and I don't think it's necessarily good for Thailand.
Now that said, in closing out this video there are going to be further videos this week and in upcoming weeks where we are going to talk about changes that are going to happen here with Integrity. One of the big things being I am starting a new channel. We're going to go a different direction with that channel. It's going to focus more on travel here in Thailand especially from the standpoint of border runs, border checkpoints, Immigration stuff associated with that. There is also internal reorganization here in the firm which I will also get to and how my role is somewhat changing as time is moving forward but stay tuned to this channel for further information.
