Just How "Open"?

Transcript of the above video:

As the title of this video suggests, we are talking about the possible re-opening of Thailand and this is currently evolving as various sectors of Government are starting to discuss reopening plans.

A recent article from the Bangkok Post, bangkokpost.com, the article is title: CCSA to Debate Reopening Plan. Quoting directly: "Thailand logged 17,491 new cases over the previous 24 hours, Monday, the lowest since July 30th. In light of this, the National Communicable Disease Committee will ask the CCSA to consider re-opening some areas of the country in line with the pledge made in June by Prime Minister Prayut Chan-O-Cha to do so in 120 days." Quoting further: "Asked if this means a reopening for the whole country or only some areas, Dr. Opas said the pledge made by the Prime Minister in June did not mean the whole country would re-open within 120 days." So exactly what this means, the exact ramifications of this, remains to be seen.

Now I have my own personal feelings about opening up and I am definitely in the camp that is more in favour of opening rather than closing. But, any positive developments with respect to getting things reopen and getting especially Thailand's economy back on track is news to my ears. I am happy to hear that and hopefully we can do this in such a way that we can get things moving down the line so that everybody comes out better; maybe not better but we do as best we can to get things moving because economically, in a sense, the problems are just beginning in a sense because we are getting reopened, we can hopefully put this behind us but we have got real issues here in Thailand. We have got to get things going again and hopefully this is the first step in that direction.
