As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing investment in Thailand. I thought of making this video after reading recent article from the Thai Examiner, that is thaiexaminer.com, the article is titled: Soaring Baht as the Thai economic spirit rises with one of the world's lowest levels of inflation. Quoting directly: "Senior Bank of Thailand executive heralds new confidence in Thailand with over B107 billion in foreign purchases in the stock and bonds markets." 107 billion baht in foreign purchases in the stock and bonds market. That is pretty staggering stuff there. Quoting further: "In Bangkok, Ms. Chayawadee Chai-Anant, Assistant Governor of the Bank of Thailand saw the sharp change in fortune for the Baht as indicating renewed investor confidence in Thailand in addition to US data showing a softening in inflation stateside." Quoting further: "She also noted the Baht had gained more than 5% against regional currencies and outlined that foreign buyers have this year invested B107 billion in Thai securities comprised of B89 billion in bonds and B18 billion in the Stock Exchange of Thailand." Quoting further: "Earlier this week, good news for the economy kept coming with the Vice President of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), Montri Mahapruekphong unveiling a fifth consecutive month of rising confidence among industrialists with the index recorded at 93.1 in October compared to 91.8 in September." 

So I mean generally speaking I think things are on a positive trend. I have got to say just from personal experience and on a much lower level being in sort of an SME when I started up out here and kind of really still being an SME, investment in Thailand can be very beneficial for a bunch of different reasons. It can have a beneficial impact on your personal life, it can have a beneficial impact on your career; it's good, it really can have a positive impact not only on one's portfolio but if you are looking to actively involve oneself in an actual ongoing business here in Thailand there are a ton of benefits to that. I mean for Americans for example under the provisions of the US-Thai Treaty of Amity, one can own one’s company 100% outright if they are an American. Meanwhile, things like the BOI, the Board of Investment can provide concessions for other type of foreign investment which can grant things like ownership benefits and things of that nature. Meanwhile, things like the Eastern Economic Corridor which is a kind of a newer edition. I've read through the enabling act for that there are a ton of benefits associated with foreign investment in the Eastern Economic Corridor here in Thailand. So long story short, just across the board in my opinion at least, Thailand is a really solid place to invest not only in Asia but in the world.
