A New Secretary General for Thailand's EEC?

Transcript of the above video:

As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing the Eastern Economic Corridor. I thought of making this video after reading a recent article from the Bangkok Post, bangkokpost.com, the article is titled: Chula gets nod as EEC panel head. Quoting directly: "Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha has endorsed the appointment of Chula Sukmanop, as Secretary-general of the Eastern Economic Corridor. Mr. Chula was appointed by the EECPC Board to the Secretary-General post in late December last year. His appointment was not officially approved by General Prayut until March 24. Among his working priorities as the new EECPC Secretary-General are to continue to push for the high-speed train project linking Don Mueang, Suvarnabhumi and U-Tapao airports."

Yeah, a lot going on down in the Eastern Economic Corridor, we have discussed this in many other videos. I think the EEC is something that anybody who's looking to invest in Asia specifically Southeast Asia, should really keep a close eye on because I think the EEC is going to end up being something that is really going to be, I don't want to put too much hyperbole behind this if you will but I think it is going to be a boomtown quite honestly. I've just been through looking around at what they are building down there, the infrastructural project. Then you look at the port facilities and wow it just goes on and on. I mean it's just industry, business, writ large. It's great to see because long term it means prosperity for the whole country quite honestly. And it is worth noting again, there is going to be this rail link between these three airports and that seemingly is like well okay a rail link between airports, it is more than that. It is going to connect the whole area so it is pretty darned important and I think it is something that is really going to benefit the country in the long term and we have discussed this in other videos, there are business concessions separate and apart from even the BOI here in Thailand which could be garnered by those looking to do business in the EEC and these are not insignificant benefits. We are talking about major tax holidays; we are talking about certain Immigration benefits; we are talking about even the possibility of land ownership, again circumstances depending and law permitting. But the EEC, it is definitely something to look into if you are looking to invest here in Southeast Asia.
