No More CCSA in Thailand?

Transcript of the above video:

As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing the CCSA, that is the Centre for COVID Situation Administration here in Thailand. Yeah, it does appear from some recent comments, and we will get to those in a second, that the CCSA is going to come to an end. This has kind of been the Committee if you want that has overseen all of the administration associated with all of this. Those who have watched this channel with any regularity over the last couple of years are probably well aware I am pretty ambivalent over many of the protocols that were instituted under their auspices. Interestingly enough, a recent article from The Nation, nationthailand.com, the article is titled: No CCSA or extension of Emergency Decree from October 1. Quoting directly: "Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha on Friday approved the lifting of the Emergency Decree and dissolution of the Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) on October 1. Emergency Decree has been extended a total of 19 times since March 24, 2020 with the latest extension ending on September 30th."

So definitely good news. I think we are moving toward a situation here, middle to end of August wherein policy makers are starting to say okay this is looking like an endemic situation and we can kind of get on with it. I definitely welcome this change. I think it is going to be a good thing. Let's just kind of put the past behind us if you will; it was what it was. I hope we all learned lessons from this; I know I did. There will be certain things in the future I definitely will question that I didn't really question this time around and hopefully we don't have to deal with this ever again, that would be great. That would certainly be a positive thing if we never have to go through what we have been through here in Thailand in the last roughly two and a half years.

That being said, I do think everybody was operating on a good faith basis in order to try and move the country forward in as much of a positive way as they could. So good, I think this is a good thing. We can move on from this and hopefully put this all behind us.
