I have gotten a couple of emails, I want to stress this, this is not an issue that I have a direct answer for yet but I have gotten a couple of emails from folks that have told me they are trying to buy a motorbike for example. I think in both cases it was like a motorcycle situation and they are putting together their paperwork and they have been told that there is now an extra special permit; I don't mean "extra special", I mean in the past there was a certain amount of documentation you needed to go ahead and buy a motorbike here. Now apparently there is a specific permit for a foreigner to go ahead and buy a motorbike and I can't get any clear information yet as to what exactly this special permit entails. I can't even get any information on whether or not this is merely a rumour or not or some sort of local office thing that is happening at, for example there is a Resident Certificate that needs to be obtained from Thai Immigration. In one of the pieces of correspondence I was reading, this person was told that to get that, they needed this other special permit which they had to go to the Department of Land Transport to obtain and they now are kind of stuck in a Catch-22 trying to figure all this out. I don't know the exact answer to this, what's going on. 

I thought it was worth making a video more or less to see if there is anybody out there who is experiencing this. We will definitely try to dig into this further but for now and again this is merely anecdotal, but I am getting information coming in to me that is saying, hey there is a rumour, I have been told out here that in order to buy a motorcycle or a vehicle, it is my understanding that this may apply to just vehicles generally, there is a specific special permit that needs to be obtained for foreigners to do that before they can even get the later documentation that you would normally need or normally needed in the past to buy a vehicle that now there is this added Doc. and maybe there is an adjudication associated with that. Again I just don't have all that information right now.

I thought it was worth putting this out there so the internet, sort of out there in the ether, folks maybe on their own time or whatever can kind of dig into this a little bit more. We will try to dig into it further and we will try to further update on this channel as the situation evolves.
