Should Thailand Follow the USA in Withdrawing from the WHO?
Transcript of the above video:
As the title of this video suggests, we're discussing, well we are discussing President Trump pulling out of the World Health Organization - newly re-minted President Trump it should be noted - and I couldn't be happier about that. The American in me is like YAY hurray and then the Thai in me is like okay when's our turn; when do we get to get out of this?
That said, I thought of making this video after reading a recent article from 6abc.com, 6, that's the number 6abc.com, the article is titled: Trump withdraws US from World Health Organization. Quoting directly: "President Donald Trump on Monday signed an Executive Order withdrawing the United States from the World Health Organization, which is a United Nations Agency that works with Government entities and other partners to improve the health of people and communities worldwide. As of January 19, it had 124 members states including the US."
Well including no longer because she's gone, and hopefully all of Uncle Sammy's money with it, or as friends of mine out here have called him before, "Uncle Sugar". So long story short, look this I think is a major watershed moment in American politics. I'm hoping Thailand takes a long and good look at doing this as well. I don't see what the WHO has brought to bear in terms of any kind of benefit to anyone other than the people who take salaries for working there. Because quite frankly all I saw them do in the so-called COVID pandemic which by the way everybody forgets, Tedros changed how you define a pandemic at the very beginning of it in order to trigger all these mechanisms that then resulted in arguably one of the stupidest and most costly in terms of economics - things we have seen in oh probably a hundred years minimum - at least since the outset of the Second World War did we see anything this calamitously stupid and that cost so many people so much.
So I'm very hopeful that Thailand takes a page from the USA's playbook and rejects the WHO as well and kicks these folks out, so we never have to deal with what we dealt with the last five years ever again.
