Thai Cannabis Storage, Compliance, & Import/Export Assistance?
Transcript of the above video:
As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing well the issue of Cannabis. Look, Thailand made a big step in legalizing Cannabis. I think there may be some changes to regulatory stuff associated with Cannabis, but overall legality is going to remain if for no other reason than this is a big commodity, and Thailand is at the forefront of this commodity, not only in Asia but really in the world, and I think effectively Thailand can come to if you will, I hesitate say dominate, but Thailand can enjoy a comparative advantage associated with Cannabis as an agricultural product that is on par with really the advantage that America had with regard to tobacco as a cash crop, at the sort of American revolutionary period, the sort of early or depending on who you talk to, late-early, early-middle sort of age of exploration if you will, the so-called Merchant Kings of the old trading, British East India Company, Dutch East India Company, these kind of places; the Jamestown Company and all of this stuff. We are at that level here in Thailand with regard to Cannabis as a cash crop. This is a commodity. I'm from Kansas, the land of agribusiness. Agricultural commodities are what they are.
More and more I see sort of areas out here in Thailand that I'll probably be involved in professionally and even personally under certain circumstances, involving not just Cannabis but other commodities. I've discussed on this channel gold and silver; I see more and more there being a demand for that especially out here in Southeast Asia. Cannabis is a commodity in its own right, as well as other things. But one thing I think is worth pointing out in this video is look, if you are in this business and you need certain services including things like storage, what could be described depending on how you look at it from a circumstantial standpoint, “bonded storage” insofar as you can store it with someone you can not only trust professionally but also it would be stored in a manner that would be in compliance with Thai Law. Basically all licensing and compliance is in order, as well as assistance with things like import-export licenses associated with Cannabis which is a very cutting-edge area of the Law by any stretch of the imagination; we are getting into sort of murky aspects of the Law. But at the end of the day, this is an evolving industry in Thailand, and the law is going to evolve with it. So we are assisting folks, clients, in finding relevant licensing, possibly finding relevant solutions in terms of import-export as well as solutions regarding storage.
So if you're interested in that, it may not be a terrible idea to contact a legal professional, gain some insight and guidance in to how best to proceed.
