As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing the possibility of a gradual reopening in the entertainment sector here in Thailand. This came to my attention via the Pattaya News. That is thepattayanews.com, the article is titled: Thai Covid-19 Center to discuss gradual reopening of cinemas and entertainment venues nationwide. Quoting directly: "However, the assistant spokesperson stressed that if approved, the reopening would be done in gradual, stable, and safe ways as possible and each province and area may apply in a different time frame depending on whether they are ready or not. Unlike prior openings last year and in January, it would not likely be an opening of the entire entertainment sector at once but likely in staggered, safe steps." 

So, that is what we are likely dealing with. I have my own opinions on this. I mean I have heard the word safe so many times I don't know if I can take it anymore. I would also be curious to know where the notion came from that this staggered, safe steps- what does that mean and where is the data to show that that has any impact on anything?  I don't really understand where some of these ideas come from. Are they data driven? Did somebody just think this up and it sounds like a good idea? That being said, I would say it sounds like overall good news that things are starting to move in a more, for lack of a better term, normalized direction. I don't really like to use the term normalization in the old sort of Soviet sense; "oh we are entering the phase of normalization", that seems a little Orwellian under the circumstances. 

Long story short it does look like things are moving in a direction of getting Thailand back reopened; the Thailand we all know and love. Hopefully this will happen sooner rather than later.
