As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing Thai Gold. I haven't made a video on Thai Gold in quite some time. I'm a big fan, you could call me a gold bug. I really like Thai Gold for a number of different reasons and man it has broken out. I am not going to get into the specific price right now because by the time this video comes out, from the time that we make it, it could be different. So the long story short, yeah it has really gone up substantially. Last I saw it at a gold shop it was 38,400 to the Baht.

So for those who are unaware, there is Baht weight gold. Thailand has a different weight and measure of gold; they use Baht weight gold. We have made other videos on this channel talking about the difference in that weight and measure from things like troy ounces or 999 gram bars, things like that; 999 fine and doing that in grams. I think China prefers to delineate things in grams; the West tends to use ounces; here in Thailand we use the Baht. And for a lot of different reasons, that different weight and measure can be very beneficial to those who have Thai Baht assets in terms of gold. 

The other thing to keep in mind is Thai Baht is fungible back to Thai currency, the Baht. Again it might be a little confusing because the currency is also called the Baht as is the gold weight and measure. But that said, yeah Thai Baht is a highly fungible form of gold especially if you are living here in Thailand. There are gold shops everywhere. The Thailand Gold Traders Association operates under certain hours, under certain rules and it is possible to buy and sell gold with them during those hours. 

So the thing I would take away from this video is yeah Thai Gold is going up; I believe the overall market globally is seeing the international gold price go up as well. Again Thailand has not fully sort of hitched its wagon onto the international gold star if you will; it has its own gold cycle if you will because it has its own weight and measure of gold. But the thing to take away from this video is yeah the price is really going up. I expect we will probably see even more demand for Thai Gold moving into the future.
