The "Thai Save Thai" App?

Transcript of the above video:

As the title of this video so just, we are discussing the "Thai Save Thai" app. I just recently heard about this in a recent article from the Bangkok Post print edition from September 6, 2021, the article is titled: Jab Proof for dine-in on October 1. Quoting directly: "Customers will be required to fill in a form detailing their infection risk through the Government's "Thai Save Thai" App before entering premises which are considered high-risk venues which include restaurants, barber shops and hair salons, beauty clinics and spas."

As I have discussed in another video and I don't want to go too far into that in this one, I am not a fan of any of this. I think this is terrible; I think this is a massive violation of basic Thai freedoms, basic human rights; I think that legally I have serious questions about where the legal basis for doing this is. At the same time I have asked in the past do we really want to live in a society and I think when average Thais sit down and think this through, I think folks probably say "yeah do we really want this?" That stated, reasonable people I am sure maybe can disagree on it but in my opinion especially if you start thinking about it, do you want to live with this for the rest of your life? I think many people kind of say Hmmm. I think it gives people pause, put it that way.

That stated this seems to be the App that is going to possibly be part of this "COVID Pass" or "Green Pass" or whatever you want to call it and we have yet to see what this thing looks like, so we are going to keep an eye on this. We will keep people updated on this channel as the situation progresses.
