Thailand Could Have a New Cabinet "By Next Week"?

Transcript of the above video:

As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing a new Cabinet here in Thailand. For those who have been keeping up either via this channel or for more information via just standard news outlets, you're probably aware that yes we have seen a change in Government here in Thailand insofar as the last Government fell due to a Supreme Court decision regarding the Prime Minister and we have seen a new Prime Minister sworn in and now we are waiting to see the actual Cabinet be installed.

I thought of making this video after reading a recent article from the Bangkok Post, bangkokpost.com, the article is titled: PM cooks up kaprao... and a Cabinet. Quoting directly: "Ms. Paetongtarn," that's the new Prime Minister, "said the Democrats brought stability to the Government as Pheu Thai and the country's oldest party agreed to join forces to solve problems for people." It's worth pointing out and it is a pretty big deal for anybody who keeps track of the history of these things that the Democrat Party has now joined the coalition, the governing coalition here in Thailand. That's a pretty big deal because for quite some time, Pheu Thai and the Democrat Party have been at odds; that is a major development. That being said, quoting further: "She also indicated that the Cabinet list could be ready to be forwarded for Royal endorsement by next week." It is my understanding as of the time of this video, we are still waiting endorsement and then subsequent to that, presumably the Cabinet being installed. Now again, it remains to be seeing the exact timing of this. I don't see any reason as of the time of this video why I think this wouldn't happen, so I think we're probably looking at this coming week yes, we're going to end up with a new Cabinet here in Thailand which means things are going to move forward from the current caretaker capacity of the present Government.

Now me personally, as sort of a libertarian Thai who really, really is into checks and balances, I kind of liked just having a caretaker government that just sort of administers things but doesn't actually promulgate laws or do anything, basically doesn't bother me on any kind of a personal level. That being said, things are changing here in Thailand and it looks like we're going to see a Cabinet in the Kingdom presumably within this coming week.
