Is the WHO's "Pandemic Treaty" Colonization by Other Means?
Transcript of the above video:
As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing the WHO's so-called "Pandemic Treaty". We have discussed this in other videos in the past, not something I really harp on frequently but I was reading some stuff about it the other day. I am not going to get into citations and things, this is just kind of an opinion video but I was reading some things about this and apparently under its present draft form, if promulgated, the result would be you would see a situation where a sort of supranational body, so a sort of body above the Nations, would be created and those that sign on to it if a "Pandemic" arises in the future and again definition of which can be very fluid as we discussed was a little bit fluid when this whole thing started some years back and then when they decided to call Monkey Pox a pandemic and like a majority of the Board didn't agree with it but they went ahead and did it anyway, I thought that was strange and I did a video on that. Again, the definition of pandemic seems to be something that is always difficult to nail down.
The point of this video, more the point is it's my understanding under the present draft of the Treaty, what I have read, the proposed agreement if ratified, is that there would be this sort of body I guess it would be the WHO or some sort of body underneath it that would set these policies that then these countries would have to just abide by and wouldn't have any real say in. That leads me to the question "well then what is this?" I mean it looks to me like colonization by another name and as a naturalized Thai person, and somebody who is quite proud of Thai history, that is pretty creepy to me when I consider the fact that Thailand one of the really amazing things about Thai history is how they managed to avoid and evade becoming a colony when the colonial powers were out here trying to make everything that they came across into a colony. Then still had to sort of bob and weave and things into the 20th century and get through the Cold War and all of this and unfortunately, and I am not going to go too deep here but yeah I definitely think Public Health Policy is important but I am not understanding the need I don't see why, I feel like Thai Public Health figures can deal with this. They don't need a body above them that is beyond reproach that they have to abide by, that they can't override. They don't need that; Thailand doesn't need that. For that matter the US doesn't need it either. These countries can figure out their own health policy for themselves. Why do they need this supranational body coming up with these policies? Now again it is kind of akin to the now defunct Trans Pacific Partnership, I had issues with that at the time and still kind of do in its present form. Again it creates these sort of supranational kind of, I hesitate to say non-accountable but it's as close to non-accountable as I can figure, again these supranational bodies that they don't really answer to anybody and then they just sort of tell these countries what to do or in theory they would tell these countries what to do and there wouldn't be any getting around it, any getting out of it presumably.
So again, I really hope Thailand and the USA for that matter really think long and hard before promulgating the so-called “Pandemic Treaty” because I can see that there are probably, I think more downsides to it than there are upsides.
