The Property Market in Thailand Has Recovered Since 2022?

Transcript of the above video:

As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing the property market in Thailand. I thought of making this video after reading a recent article from Khao Sod English, that is khaosodenglish.com, the article is titled: Thai Real Estate to Attract Foreign Investors up to THB 150 billion. Quoting directly: "Wichai Viratakaphan, Bank Inspector and acting Director-General of the Real Estate Information Centre (REIC), told reporters that the property market in Thailand has recovered since 2022. One of the main driving factors is the close relationship between the sector and the tourism industry." Interesting there, let me quote that again: "The close relationship between the sector and the tourism industry." Quoting further: "After surveying 27 Thai provinces in 2022, REIC found that the total value of the industry was 390 billion Thai Baht or equivalent of 11.4 billion US Dollars, an increase of 1,515 per cent from 2021 when the value was 24 billion Thai Baht or 704 million US Dollars."

A couple of things there. Yes I think we could say there has been a recovery most assuredly but when you kind of go from zero, there is nowhere to go but up. I mean 2021 was not a great year for the Thai property market. That said, I'm not trying to belittle this rather major set of circumstances here. We have seen orders of magnitude increase in terms of demand in the Thai property market and that is definitely a good thing for Thailand overall and I think it is something that probably is at least somewhat attributable to many of the policies in opening Thailand back up, getting foreign tourists back into the country as noted in that excerpt itself, and I urge those who are watching this video go check out that article for yourself.

But yeah, it has been very, very interesting to watch the uptick in the Thai property market and hopefully we will see this vibrancy continue into the coming months and years.
