The Gold "Fire Rises" In Thailand And Greater Asia?

Transcript of the above video:

As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing the "fire rising" with regard to Thai Gold. The reason that's in quotation marks is I am quoting from the film, it is Christopher Nolan's third Batman film I believe called The Dark Knight Rises where Bane, toward the beginning of the film says, the "Fire Rises". It has been interesting to watch Gold. I've been a gold bug for over 20 years; I have just always kind of liked gold. Maybe one of the things Thailand and I are sort of simpatico on or on the same wavelength in our thinking on is Thai Gold.

So I thought of making this video after reading a recent article from the Bangkok Post, bangkokpost.com, the article is titled: Gold hits all time amid geopolitical strife. Quoting directly: "Gold prices soared to an all-time high of US$2,450 an ounce on Monday, as a slowing inflation trend in the US increased optimism that the Federal Reserve will start easing monetary policy this year." Just one thing. Folks in the media, you are going to have to start getting your mind in line with the new paradigm that is befalling the world with regard to monetary fiscal policy and matters pertaining to commodities. This whole notion that everything is dictated by Central Banks and what they are going to do and whether they are going to ease or not, I think that that's somewhat, not even somewhat, I think that that is now anachronistic bordering on antiquated thinking to paraphrase Colonel Douglas McGregor who I saw recently on YouTube that is anachronistic bordering on antiquated thinking regarding how the International Financial System is going to be working moving forward. That being said, quoting further: "while geopolitical tension in the Middle East is on the increase. Spot gold rose 1.4% to hit $2,450.07 an ounce in Asia on Monday, surpassing a previous intraday record reached in April. But it eased to $2,440." Well, 10 bucks. Wow what a retrenchment; what a drawback.

In any case look, again Thailand has its own weight and measure for gold which is really quite cool and in my opinion insulates the Thai economy from a lot of the vicissitudes of the international economy, some of the negative fallout that may occur in other economic realms if you will, in other jurisdictions. So that is one thing I like about gold and the ability to sort of arbitrage against if you will the Western weight and measure gold, the sort of troy ounce measure of gold versus the Thai Baht measure of gold. And, now we are seeing, I believe it is called the Four Nines Fine Gold coming out of China; it's even being re-smelted in certain areas and being made into that Four Nines Fine Gold presumably for the Shanghai Gold Exchange.

A lot of amazing things are really happening in Gold. It's kind of one of those situations, to paraphrase Vladimir Lenin, he said: "Sometimes years go by where nothing happens and weeks go by where years happen." I think that is where we are at right now with regard to Gold. We are really seeing changes in an international context as well as within the Kingdom of Thailand.
