As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing Thai House books, also known as a Tabian Baan, it literally means house registration, so it's a House Book. We have done videos on this before but I have had a lot of folks kind of remind me in the past couple of weeks, they have asked me stuff that said: "hey what about this, that"? And I say: "I talked about that 2 years ago, I'll send them a link" and then they will say, well sometimes we don't know that you talked about this stuff over and over, not even over and over. I talked about it at length, it was noticed at the time and then people kind of moved on. Well yeah maybe from time to time, I may have to do some kind of review videos. 

Yeah, a Thai House book, there is a house resignation book associated with one's property or where one lives in Thailand; you have to be registered on that house book. It's kind of like a living census if you will insofar as it basically tabulates and keeps track of folks and where they live. There's also constructive notice issues that arise under Thai law that arise as a result of Thai Tabian Baans, Thai House Books and yeah we are doing another video contemporaneously with this one where we discuss it in the context of foreigners, specifically what is called the Yellow House Book which I am not going to get into in this video. 

That said, there is a house book, a normal Tabian Baan, so-called normal, but a standard Tabian Baan that actually is issued to a foreign national in Thailand if they have Thai Permanent Residence. So, if you become a Permanent Resident of Thailand, yes it is most assuredly possible to get a Blue House Book. Falling short of that, no it's not possible to get a Blue House Book in Thailand although again, it may be possible for a foreigner to get a Yellow House Book depending on circumstances and again we are making a video contemporaneously with this one where we discuss that in detail.
