Thai Gold: Thoughts on 2023

Transcript of the above video:

For those unaware, I am a little bit of a gold bug and Thai gold kind of took my fancy some years ago when I found out that it was a different weight and measure compared to International Gold specifically American Gold. For those who are unaware of how important weights and measures are in an American context, go check out the US Constitution specifically the section pertaining to weights and measures. Very enlightening when you do kind of a comparative law analysis of how Thai Gold works versus how gold works in an American context or an international context but there are some legal ramifications to weights and measures under the terms of the Constitution. So the reason for this video, it's just me kind of riffing if you will on what my thoughts are on Thai Gold going into 2023.

I would say my thoughts on Thai Gold and let me be clear, I am not any kind of investment advisor or anything of that nature, I am just kind of a gold bug, somebody who likes gold and what are my thoughts? Well my thoughts on Thai Gold are pretty similar to my thoughts on gold in an International context. It is definitely something I want to have going into 2023. I think the overall global economy is such that a little bit of gold is probably a good idea to have.

Meanwhile though, I will say that I think Thai Gold and gold in an Asian context may end up operating very differently than gold in a Western context and 2023 might be viewed as kind of the watershed year when that started happening, when sort of that breakaway was clear. 2022 might have been when it happened but the breakaway might have made itself abundantly clear by 2023. I would be really interested to watch the trajectory of Thai Gold especially in light of the fact that Thailand's economy is doing some things that are kind of different than the economies of definitely the West but other parts of the world. Meanwhile the overall economies of Asia are in a decidedly different position, a substantively different position if you will then many of the economies in the West. So exactly where this plays out remains to be seen. The ramifications on gold, specifically Thai Gold remain to be seen but I do have to say, I will speculate that if there is any kind of major movement in Gold, I can see where that major movement would be mitigated a little bit in a Thai Gold context because of the unique state of the Thai economy.
