Is CommonPass to be the "Immunity Passport" for Global Travel?

Transcript of the above video:

As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing the initiative if you will, of so-called CommonPass.

Now a recent posting from the World Economic Forum, that is weforum.org, quoting directly: “CommonPass aims to develop and launch a standard global model to enable people to securely document and present their COVID-19 status either as test results or an eventual vaccination status to facilitate international travel and border crossing while keeping their health information private. Recognizing that countries will make sovereign decisions on border entry and health screening requirements including whether or not to require tests or what type of test to require, CommonPass serves as a neutral platform which creates the interoperability needed for the various," and this was an interesting phrase "travel bubbles", we have heard that a lot here in Thailand, "to connect and for countries to trust one another's data by leveraging global standards." There is a lot more information on there. I urge you to go to the World Economic Forum website weforum.org.

Now, further, a recent article from MintPress News, that is mintpressnews.com, the article is titled: CommonPass, New COVID Security Measures make Health a Prerequisite for Travel. Quoting directly: "A new digital certificate called CommonPass designed to serve as a clearance mechanism for passengers based on a health diagnosis underwent its first transatlantic test on October 21 under the watchful eye of the Centers for Disease Control, CDC, and US Customs and Border Protection, CBP, at Heathrow Airport in London. There, a group of select participants embarked on United flight 15 to Newark, New Jersey after being screened and tested for COVID-19 at the point of departure in a largely ceremonial exercise that included initiative co-founders Paul Meyer and Bradley Perkins. I urge you to check out mintpressnews.com for further information on that. I noticed it was interesting they used the term "travel bubbles". The World Economic Forum used the term "travel bubbles".

I am not going to get into the nitty-gritty on this. I just want to provide this video so people can see that it does look like, sort of in the aftermath of the government responds to this COVID situation, there are initiatives being undertaken to, I don't know what the right word is, deal with people's health situation when traveling.

I am not going to get into my personal beliefs on this. I am trying to keep this as academic as I can because I think there are tremendous legal ramifications for this, some of which can be very scary. Long story short, clearly from this mintpressnews.com article, it appears that they have started testing it or started rolling this out at least in a limited way. Now exactly how this plays out remains to be seen. We will try to keep you updated on this topic as things progress via this channel.
