But I Read On the Internet....?

Transcript of the above video:

As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing internet and visas.

I get a lot of inquiries, I get folks on the phone too telling me in consultations or when we are discussing what we are doing with their case they will say "well, but I read on the internet that you can do this” or “I read on the internet that it works this way."

The internet is very useful and in a broad sense it can provide a lot of broad strokes with respect to how things work in an Immigration context. Now that stated, and I am not talking Thai or US specifically, this is just across the board, sort of an editorial of my own on the overall topic of using the internet for Visa and Immigration research.

In the current times we are in, this sort of POST-COVID-19 response, in both Thailand and the United States, I would say the internet is especially troublesome when it comes to information because what may work in one Embassy or Consulate may not work in another place. What may work for one person or persons may not work in another set of circumstances so using the internet right now I know it is ironic, you know we put out this information on the internet sort of ironic of me to say this but you need to be careful with what you are using as definitive research on these Immigration topics because some of what is on the internet is very useful in a broad sense. At the same time, some of the more specific information can cause you real problems and may put you in a detrimental position with respect to your visa application.
