Passport Certification for Thai Amity Treaty Company Certification
Transcript of the above video:
As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing passport certification in the context of Thai Amity Treaty Company certification.
For those who are unaware, and I urge you if you are, to go ahead and check out the search function on our channel and just search for AMITY and you will find a plethora of information regarding the Amity Treaty and companies certified thereunder.
What is the Treaty? Well to keep it simple and short there is a Treaty between the United States and Thailand and Americans and American Companies may under the terms of this Treaty be able to do business in Thailand with what is called "National treatment". In practice this means that an American may be able to own their Company 100% outright. That is a major benefit especially in light of what is called the Foreign Business Act here in the Kingdom of Thailand. I will let you check that out on our channel for further information into the details of that.
This video is specifically discussing passport certification so we are talking American passport certification for the individual shareholders of an Amity Corporation here in Thailand. This happens a lot but basically, we oftentimes assist clients in getting Amity certified and you have got to deal with getting your passport certified. It is basically like a notarized copy for lack of a better term. Some folks will decide to do it through the US Embassy here in Bangkok or the US Consulate in Chiang Mai. It has been known to happen and we have assisted in the cases where certified copies of passports have been notarized in the United States for use by The Amity certification process here with the US Embassy and the Ministry of Commerce. Long story short, once you have that document certified, then you can go ahead and proceed on with the next steps of certifying the Company as a whole.
Now this this process is rather complex. It is definitely rather time-consuming so for those watching this video and especially the fact that the Thai documentation is all in the Thai language, those watching this video I would urge you to check out the other videos on this channel that we made regarding Amity Certification. Also it may not be a terrible idea to go ahead and contact a legal professional in order to gain some insight and guidance into how best to proceed.
