It recently came to my attention that there appears to be sort of an alternative plan for quarantine in certain regions of Thailand which has recently been discussed in an article in Thai Visa, that is thaivisa.com, the article is titled: The Grand Reopening? Just 20 American Tourists to Arrive in Phuket on July 9.

This article discusses the Phuket reopening but I thought this was especially interesting, this excerpt. Quoting directly from thaivisa.com: "Meanwhile Siriphan Chiawsamut, a TAT marketer said that authorities in Krabi were working on an alternative Reopening Plan called 1+2+4Q. Under this scheme Koh Phi Phi, Railay Beach, and Koh Hong would be open in July with foreign tourists having to quarantine in their rooms for one day. On days 2 and 3, they could use the hotel grounds; then on days 4 - 7 they can move further afield subject to restrictions. I thought that was rather interesting. We have been discussing the so called Phuket “Sandbox” initiative on this channel rather at length including the guidelines and protocols associated with that. I thought it was interesting that there may upcoming be an alternative in a different area of Thailand with respect to this “1+2+4Q” plan.

Again this stuff all remains to be seen but it is interesting. Now the question becomes: what does further afield mean? what are the restrictions? As we have seen with the Phuket plan, there is a lot that is still left a little bit murky and there are a number of restrictions associated with staying in Phuket and being in Phuket but as of the time of this video it is interesting to note that there appears to be at least discussion of certain alternatives and we will keep people updated on this channel as the situation progresses.
