I don't like to issue ALERTS unless it's serious. This is warranted. I just did another one that came out yesterday that I put up regarding the visa-free system is changing. Look, I have been talking about this for a while so don't be surprised. In fact, the late great Barry Kenyon last summer in 2025, when he was still with us - rest his soul - he brought up the fact - and I disagreed with him at this time - he brought up the fact that he thought there was going to be a major overhaul in Thai Immigration with this coming Government. I didn't think that was going to be the case then, I stand corrected, I think Mr. Kenyon was right. 

I've been talking about this since about February, January, February, I kind of changed my tune on this because I sort of saw the wisdom of what Mr. Kenyon saw and yeah, I think we are definitely looking at a situation wherein this Parliament, by the time we're done in this Parliament, there will have been major overhauls to the Immigration System. We have already seen one. The Cabinet has promulgated a change to the Visa-Free system which is a little bit disingenuous to say that that is a major change, because prior to the prior Government which only lasted about 2 years, we didn't see really any change in the Visa-exempt system. They changed it, this government has now changed it back, so that actually is kind of a reversion to the mean if you will. This, however, is a major change.

So Thailand is actually bringing online true regulations regarding deportation for the first time ever. This is important to point out. 

That said, I thought of making this video after reading a recent article from Khaosod English, that is khaosodenglish.com, the article is titled: Cabinet approves Thailand's first deportation regulations, identifying six grounds for removal. Quoting directly: "The Cabinet has approved draft regulations establishing a formal process for deporting foreign nationals who enter, work or conduct business in Thailand illegally, as well as those convicted of serious crimes. Government spokesperson Ratchada Thanadirek said the Cabinet approved the draft Prime Minister's Office regulations on deportation during its meeting on Tuesday, following a proposal submitted by Deputy Prime Minister Pakorn Nilprapunt. The proposal follows a Cabinet resolution on 16 June appointing Pakorn to coordinate with relevant agencies on improving laws, regulations and procedures concerning Immigration. The review was intended to speed up the removal of foreign nationals who commit crimes or enter the country illegally. The Government said Thailand currently has no unified administrative regulations governing deportation, requiring agencies to coordinate closely on individual cases. The Interior Ministry will be responsible for returning the person to their country of nationality.”

Important to point out there that Mr. Anutin is not only the Prime Minister, he is also the Interior Minister, and as I have talked about, this has been heavily prioritized. Compared to times past, Immigration is getting really serious about enforcement and as I have talked about this past year when the tensions arose at the border and the response associated therewith, I made videos at the time explaining, “hey this is serious”. This is bumped up into National Security type of paradigm thinking, and that was even after an upgrade from being viewed as administrative to law enforcement. Now it's all the way up in National Security. Couple that with the fact that weapons stockpiles were found in the past couple of months involving two different nationalities, let's put it that way; people look from two different extractions. It is not any one group of foreigners that the Thais are concerned about right now. They are concerned about immigration generally and we are seeing this sort of borne out in the form of these new regulations, these new rules.

So the thing to take away from this video is this is coming online. I am going to be making other videos contemporaneously with this one and releasing them shortly regarding the nuances of this, how this is likely to play out. But that being said, we will certainly be keeping folks updated on this channel as the situation evolves.
