All Thai Travel Restrictions Removed?
Transcript of the above video:
As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing the removal of Thai travel restrictions. I thought of making this video after reading a recent article from the Pattaya Mail, pattayamail.com, the article is titled: Travellers to Thailand no longer required to show proof of vaccination or ATK test results from October 1. Quoting directly: "Thailand's Centre of COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) announced the ending of the nationwide COVID-19 Emergency Decree on 30th September, 2022, as the Kingdom reclassifies COVID-19 from 'a dangerous communicable disease' to 'a communicable disease under surveillance' from October 1, 2022." Quoting further: "The CCSA also stated that from October 1, 2022, international travelers to Thailand will no longer be required to show proof of vaccination or ATK test results." Which that pretty much is it. We have been talking about this really since day one, going all the way back to March 2020 with the inception of the Emergency Decree. We have been with you folks, folks who have been watching this channel we have been with you down the line talking about this whether you like hearing me ramble on or not since March of 2020 and here we are. It looks like we are at the culmination of this thing. To enter Thailand beginning from October 1, 2022 it looks like it is not going to be, it is really going to be status quo ante, sort of status quo ante COVID if you will. We are back to basically what we are at quarter one of 2020. So no more vaccination documentation required; no more ATK test; everything is just done and we are reopen.
Hopefully, I am really hoping we are going to see this act as a major boon for Thailand as this couldn't come at a more opportune time. Frankly I wish it had come two years ago but here we are and we are going into High season and Thailand is open for business; open for tourism; hoping to get as many folks as we can in this year so that we can see our economy get back to where it needs to be and so we can all just have a good time. It will be nice to have a laugh in Thailand again on a grand scale, I definitely think that is a good thing but yeah all good news. It appears as of next week, as of the time of this video, Thailand will be reopened with no need to show documentation pertaining to vaccination or medical history really much at all. It will just be a matter of being able to make travel arrangements and come to Thailand.
Now again Visa requirements depending on one's nationality may still be there and depending on what type of Visa you want to come in on, you may still need to get a Visa before you arrive. For those who just want to come into Thailand for example from the United States, the UK, Europe, the Anglosphere, Canada, Australia, these places, basically any place that has a Visa waiver with Thailand where they can get a Visa exemption stamp, you now just need your passport, get on a plane and you can get stamped into the Kingdom of Thailand.
