Thai Business Visas for Meetings and Exhibitions

Transcript of the above video:

As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing the Thai Business Visa. We are specifically discussing Thai Business Visas issued for purposes of meetings, exhibitions or just business purposes generally.

This comes from the Thai Embassy website in the United Kingdom. Under the subcategory Non-immigrant type B: traveling to Thailand for business purposes e.g. meeting exhibition single and multiple entries, they stress: “letter confirming employment details from an employer in the UK or Ireland signed it by authorized person stating the business purpose that the company will dispatch the employee to Thailand; copy of ID or passport of the signer; invitation letter from a Company in Thailand; business license of the inviting Company; financial evidence; confirmation of legal residence in the UK or Ireland”.

This could be the same list for the United States or a similar one just transpose USA for UK, Canada, Australia, a lot of Europe.

The long story short, prior to this COVID travel restriction regime we are currently under, Thai Business Visas were issued much more broadly than they have been issued here recently and I will get into that in a video we are making contemporaneously with this one. Long story short, as of the time of this video, COVID-19 or the restrictions associated therewith are basically precluding folks from entering Thailand for these vague business purposes, exhibitions and meetings. It is just not possible. They generally are only going to be admitting folks in B status under a very much a heightened threshold most notably work authorized individuals, so folks with Work Permits or a WP3 work pre-authorization letter.

So the thing to take away from this video is, Yes at one time a Thai Business Visa could be issued in a much more broad manner but as of the time of this video, it is only being issued under specific circumstances.
