Assistance Opening A Personal Bank Account In Thailand
Transcript of the above video:
I don't usually make videos where we just directly say "hey, we can assist with this", but Bank Account opening has been something that, I guess I had never really noticed it. It comes up kind of ancillary to other discussions but yeah it is something that can be a real pain for a lot of folks who are looking to open just a standard personal bank account here in Thailand. They may not even spend the majority of their year here but they spend a fairly long period of time and oftentimes they need; I call it like something akin to a household account. It is just your account, you want to keep some money on hand for when you arrive, if you stay in Thailand 6 months a year, 4 months a year, 8 months a year. You are here for prolonged periods but you may not necessarily be completely rooted to Thailand. It can be a little bit difficult to get a Bank Account set up. It can depend on Visa status; it can depend on bank requirements; it can depend on Bank rules. Also if you are new to Thailand and again there is language barriers, getting lost in translation and then sort of dealing with, yeah I got to be honest the banking system can be and this might be putting it lightly, a bit Byzantine to deal with and when you are a foreigner dealing with it for the first time, this could just be something, it is just a little bit overwhelming or it is just something folks just don't want to deal with. So yeah, we do provide services associated with assisting people in getting a Personal Bank Account set up here in the Kingdom of Thailand. So, if you are interested in that service, it may not be a terrible idea to contact us and we may be able to assist in getting you a Bank Account here.
Now that said, there may be folks we cannot assist with as there are circumstances where for example just recently it was announced that there is a visa waiver program for Chinese Nationals coming into Thailand. It is kind of a temporary thing going through high season this year and those folks specifically it has been said cannot open Bank Accounts utilizing those visas. That is just one example, there may be other circumstances where it may not be possible as well. So again, depending on your circumstances it may be possible to do it and we are certainly happy to assist folks looking to get banking facilities here in the Kingdom of Thailand.
