Banking For Thai Retirement Visas Has "Become More Complex"?

Transcript of the above video:

As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing Retirement Visas and banking. I thought of making this video after reading a recent article from the Pattaya Mail, that is pattayamail.com. As usual we urge those who are watching these videos, go ahead and check out the source material, again pattayamail.com, the article is titled: Western retirees in Thailand feeling rather insecure. A lot of good information in there, we are going to quote a small excerpt here. Quoting directly: "Although Immigration Offices have discretion about the detail, there is concern that the certificates from a Thai bank to show the applicant's cash balance or monthly transfer amounts have become more complex."

Yeah look, long story short, I think it is pretty safe to say that yeah certain aspects of Thai Immigration have gotten more complex in the last roughly three to five years. Now part of that probably comes from digitization and honestly, any new technology that any Government brings on, I have never seen it ever create more convenience or less hassle. If anything, quite honestly anything they ever add it honestly always seems just add steps to an already rather Byzantine process especially when we are speaking about Thai Immigration.

So that said, we assist a number of clients every year with retirement status including banking functions. There is a great deal of value that can be had for someone who has especially never dealt with the Thai banking system before, never dealt with the Thai Immigration System before and those are arguably two of the most difficult things to deal with for any expat here in Thailand. So there may be some benefit to the folks out there to contacting a legal professional, gaining some insight and guidance into how best to proceed.
